The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application process.
Applications at the moment are open and can shut on 15 December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should fulfill the following criteria:
• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who originates from a house by using a combined gross household income that doesn't exceed R350 000 for every annum.
• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined domestic money won't exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and need not submit any evidence of income.
*** Loan Scheme for website the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent inhabitants from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every annum.
Applicants are reminded to offer the correct Id Doc numbers, names, and surname, as reflected inside their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds individuals who are researching or intend to research at a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
